Kashmir Weather – Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir

Kashmir the “Heaven on Earth” regarded its thanks to Mughal emperor Jahangir for observation. The best time to visit is from March to August. Kashmir weather during this time is pleasant and suitable for tourism.

It is famous for Kashmir’s beauty that it is so bewitching that either people plan to stay here forever or keep on coming back.

The resplendent Mughal gardens, elegant Shikharas, perfumed flowers, and Dal Lake can transport you into another realm.

Since it is a cold region, there are very few months that are suitable for a trip or visit. In this article, we have covered the climate changes of this area throughout the year.

During Summer (March to May)

At this time of the year, the temperature is not very hot. It doesn’t exceed the limit of 30 to 31 °C. Likewise, the lower temp range is 9 to 15 °C.

Summer weather Azad Kashmir is usually low enough to make locals use their ceiling fans. Even though the days are heated somewhat, the nights remain cold.

Significance: Honeymoon destination

Things to know before the visit: The rents and prices of hotels and resorts skyrockets during the peak summers. Flight tickets and road travels become expensive because the majority of people travel here during this time. You can book in advance to avoid any trouble.

Tips: Even though the daytime is warm; the nights become cold to an uncomfortable level. I will suggest you carry warm clothes to prevent uncomfortable situations. You must use sunscreen and lip balm during the daytime to prevent dry chapped skin.

In Monsoon (June to September)    

In monsoon, the temperature varies from 15 °C to 30 °C from low to high.

At this time, the rain lowers the effect of the summer heat of Kotli Azad Kashmir weather. Since not all parts of the area get equal rain, therefore the temperature varies a little bit.

Significance: Peace/rain lover’s destination

Things to know before the visit: The majority of people avoid traveling here in this humid climate for fear of sightseeing plans hamper. So if you are not one of them and plan to travel here, make sure to check the forecast.

There are good chances that the place you are thinking to sightsee is not having rainfall.

Tips: Even though, this period is not that cold, but can give you chills. Make sure to carry rain gear and other stuff like raincoats, jackets, and chunky boots. 

During Winter (November to February)

The temperature can get low to 0 °C and sub-zero from November to February. On the other hand, the high temp remains at 15 °C.

The Azad Kashmir weather is colder as the temp remains less than zero. The nights are coldest and you can encounter snow. People who are obsessed with snow wonderlands; it is the perfect spot for them at this period.

Significance: Winter sports

Take into consideration before traveling: During the winters, you will not able to travel to many places due to harsh winds. However, for enthusiastic trekkers, it is perfect timing. Moreover, the hotel prices are very high, it is a wise idea to book in advance.

Tips: Warm clothes are a must. Make sure to pack your sweaters, jackets, boots, and other warm stuff. Put a drinking water reminder on phone to avoid dehydration. It will be better if you drink tea or kahwa more often.

In Autumn (October to November)

During this time, the temp at its low is 9 °C and at its high is approximately 20 °C.

The climate is somehow chilly since winter is still here. It is cold but not extremely cold. So if you have come from a warmer place, you will feel cold more than others.

Significance: Spectacular visionary and breathtaking beauty

Take into consideration while traveling: Since there is still coldness in the atmosphere; most people don’t head toward Jammu. You will get nice deals on flights and hotel reservations. Moreover, research on things to do during this time to enjoy the place.

Tips: If you are here this season, look for apple picking places and join to have a little adventure. Keep some warm clothes in case of emergency.
